ITS ALL ABOUT PACKAGING

 Have you ever come across John Gray's book, MEN ARE FROM MARS, WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS? 

Well, i have! 

The first time i heard about this book, its title sparked a high level of curiosity in me. "How are men from Mars and Women from Venus?" I had asked myself. 

In a bit to silence my curious mind, i decided to look for the book, read it, and understand how men came from Mars and women Venus. 

It took me months to find a hard copy of the book. And when i did, i was super excited — the kind of excitement you get when you finally get what you have desired for a long time. 

As i went through the book, i discover that there was nothing really "special" about the information the author was dishing out . Special as compared to the way i was anticipating. 

Do not get me wrong, the book itself was very educational and impacting( i really enjoyed it and might share some points later ) but it was not so alien as the title made it seem. It was all about the major differences that exist between the men and women, and how these differences came as a result of both gender coming from different perspectives(Mars and Venus). 

On a norms, i would not have been so curious about reading this book if John Gray had titled it : THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MEN AND WOMEN or WHY MEN AND WOMEN ACT DIFFERENTLY.

I would have said, "oh i know what he wants to say already " or "i have read about such stuff before." But his title kept me on my toes. 

The point am driving at here is : EVERYTHING IN THIS LIFE IS ABOUT PACKAGING. That is, doing the same thing in a different and attractive way.

We all will agree that, there are times we wish to do a particular thing or put a particular idea to action, but, a voice in our head keeps saying, "what is the point of trying?" "You might never succeed", "So many people are doing the same thing." And suddenly we are discouraged.

Lets paint a vivid picture so u can understand my point , shall we?

You may have an idea, for instance, of starting a place that fries and sells akara. And probably, the locality you are in have other akara sellers. There is a possibility that your mind will tell you you can never succeed because, others have been in the business before you or have gotten all the possible customers to themselves. Thus, making you see a slim chance of making waves. 

But, can i tell you a secret?

(In whispers) No matter how many people sell the same thing at the same spot, there will always be people to buy, you just need a strategy. 

Shocking right?

The world is so large. It is has over eight (8) billion people in it. And no matter how many people sell the same thing, they can never satisfy the increasing number of people in the world.

People are just built to be like Oliver Twist —demand for more. 

Instead of worrying whether you can beat the number of people doing what you want to do, why not ask yourself :HOW DO I MAKE THIS SAME THING LOOK BETTER AND ATTRACTIVE?. 

When you find the answer to this, you will be surprised how many people were waiting to buy from what you sell. 

Life is really all about packaging.
